Dr. Jonathan Crane, PhD. Freelance psychologist currently working for the government. I enjoy: science, teaching, sci-fi, and getting to know new people. Some call me a lunatic, but I prefer to be called a young pioneer in my field. Enough about me, how about you? ... Feel free to talk to me, I mean, I am a doctor.
Jonathan stood up, and made his way to the cupboard to take out a couple of mugs. He filled one mug with water, and put it in the microwave to heat it up for Val, remembering just then that she would want tea instead of coffee. He was pouring the coffee, when Harley chimed in asking how things were “goin’” with him and Val.
He turned back to Harley, and smiled. He was hoping against all odds that he wasn’t too red, but he could feel the blood rush to his face.
Noticing the awkwardness following her question, Harley giggled, “Aaawkwaaard! Was I not meant to bring that up?” Hopping off the table, stealing Jonathan’s glasses and returning to her spot on the table, Harley put on the glasses and looked at the two seriously. “Doctor Harley here, how can I help you today?”
Val sent a pleading glance in Jon’s direction. “Um…” She accepted the tea when he came over and clutched the mug in her hands. “You remembered,” she said with a small smile. She was doing her best to avoid Harley’s question, but she knew the girl wouldn’t give up. “I didn’t know I needed help,” she said.
“Of course I remembered,” he said, and sat down. He squinted at Harley, and frowned. “Can I please have my glasses back?” he asked impatiently.
